Merry Christmas

Well, Christmas has come and gone and it came all too fast. It always has a way of doing that.
We could not put the presents out under the tree until Camille went to bed on Christmas Eve. We thought she might rip them all open. She really liked what she saw on Christmas morning.

Cory had to go in to work on Christmas morning. While we waited a few hours for him to come home, Kelly tried to get Camille to open the present she had bought for her. Camille's best present was the wrapping paper!

Santa brought the girls a wagon and put all of their presents inside of it. They loved it. Santa knew they needed a wagon for the zoo.

Kelly and McKenna opened all of their presents in a flash and then played with everything the rest of the day. I spent most of the day in bed with a stomach ache. I guess all of their sicknesses caught up with me.
I lost a picture here and every time I try and add one after I type, it gets all messed up so I guess it will get left out.

Since it is a bit colder here in Ohio than in California, I usually put on one of my 2 robes in the morning and at night. I have a blue "softy" and a yellow"softy". That is what the girls call them. I figured they needed a "softy" of their own.

McKenna got a purple, and Kelly got a pink "softy".
Dad calls them little mommies.

Happy Birthday McKenna

December 20th was McKenna's birthday and she finally turned 3 years old!
She has not been having a great week. We took her to the doctor on her birthday to find she has another ear infection, maybe in both ears. She fell asleep on the couch around 4pm and finally woke up about 6pm just as we were going to eat dinner.

She of course was grumpy so she did not want anything to eat except corn. After dinner we told her we were going to eat cake and she said" but nobody is here yet." It was the cutest and saddest thing ever. I would have invited the neighbors but she was grumpy and sick anyway.

I explained that we were going to have just the family and she was fine. You can tell in these pictures that she was not feeling good at all.

She was sort of excited that she got a new bike but she would have been more excited had she been feeling better. That night she woke up 6 times throwing up. Kelly got it the next morning along with Camille. Kelly has now told me today that her ear hurts. Merry Christmas!

Holiday Party- Our 2nd date

Last night was the annual Advocates/Spouse Support Group Christmas Party. This was actually our 2nd date since we moved to Ohio over 6 months ago. Thank you to Dan and Sarah for watching our girls. They had a good time.

Thank you to Kelly and Mary for getting a picture of us together. That doesn't seem to happen too much anymore.
It was a great time to be together and to chat with the guys and girls without the kids.

All About Camille

Our littlest girl is getting so big.
On Mondays, our ward picks up bread from Panera after they close for the day. I picked it up this last Monday and decided to give Camille a taste. The bagel is the size of her head but she just kept snacking on it ALL day long. She never did finish the whole thing.

Camille has figured out how to get up the step into the rest of the house. She still puts everything in her mouth but is now able to recognize what is food and what is not. She will then push it out with her tongue.

We babysat for some friends last week. They have a 3 year old and a baby that is exactly the same age as Camille. The were both born on February 26, 2007.
For the first few minutes they sat and laughed/smiled at each other.

A snowman with Daddy and just cute girls!

Saturday the girls made a snowman with dad before the snow totally melted away.

Cory is taking a vote on which hat looks better on the snowman. The Lakers hat.......

Or Cory's red cap?

We had to get new boots, snow bibs, hats, gloves, AND scarves for the girls. They LOVE the snow.

McKenna's face just looks so funny, I had to put this one in.

When we went to get a Christmas Tree last week, McKenna had to stay outside with dad while they went and got the tree for us. Kelly, Camille, and I went to the car. It was freezing!

Just deciding on a tree.

If you look closely, you can see Camille admiring our new tree.

Our First BIG Snow

We woke up this morning to a few inches of snow. The girls jumped right out of bed to look out of the window. 3 hours later it is still going strong.
We were supposed to go to playgroup this morning but I am a bit nervous to drive too far and people said it is pretty bad so we stayed home.
Of course we have no snow clothes but the girls insisted on going out. We did the best we could with the clothes we had for now. They had fun trying to start a snowman.
The fun lasted about 10 minutes and then they were too cold to stay out .
I got a picture of the front of our house and yes, that orange thing by the front door is a pumpkin we still have up.
The rest are the girls having fun.
I bet you guys in California wish you were here!

Nothin' like a mullet.....

YES! McKenna has done it!
On Thursday, playgroup was at our house. We had 2 other friends over.( Amber and Annie)
We have a box with crayons, paper, glue, scissors, etc.........
While I was blow drying my hair they were doing puzzles in the dining room right next to the box of goodies. When I came downstairs I went to the computer for a few minutes and then went to check on them.....

My jaw dropped to the floor. They were still in the process of giving themselves a haircut. McKenna and Amber were the 2 who decided to play hair dresser. I know a lot of kids do this at one point but I actually NEVER thought one of mine would. If I part her hair in the middle and do piggy tails you can't tell. Otherwise it looks like this!

Our Super Thanksgiving Vacation

This is almost the whole Nelson Family. My parents have 9 children who are all married but 1. (he is almost 25 for those who are looking) They now have 22 grandkids. We are missing Cory, Trena, Jordan, Michael and Jamal. This was at Kaylee's baby blessing on Sunday the 25th.
Picture is courtesy of someone in my family.

Kelly and McKenna really liked the plane ride. This is them right before we took off. They were really good for me on the plane.

McKenna even found a decent place to sleep.

Just five of the grandkids on Grandma Dorene and Grandpa Jeff's swing. It was great weather.
McKenna, Jamal, Kelly, April, Ryan

After only 2 days, the girls were so tired. They fell asleep on Cory and Mimi's shoulders.
We ate at Chipotle at the Plaza with Grams and Papa.

Camille got her first ride in a swing at a park.

Our sister-in-law Emmie and her son Sinjin at the park with us. As of right now, Sinjin is our girls only cousin on Daddy's side. Emmie is expecting their second soon. She is already over 3 months and looks great!

Chuck E. Cheese is always a hit.

We went to a great place (thanks Emily) called Air Kids with about 5 blow up things for the kids to jump on and balls to shoot at each other. They had a blast!

Camille with her cousin Hannah who is 9 and LOVES babies!

We took family pictures with Cory's family on Thanksgiving.
Kelly and McKenna with Bompee and Mimi in their backyard.
We also took pictures of the whole family but like my own family, I did not get any on my camera. I will post when I get some.

Kelly and her Uncle Seth (Cory's brother and Emmie's husband) playing Guitar Hero on Thanksgiving.

Yes, this is a whole bag of candy! Anyone who KNOWS McKenna knows how to win her love.

Saturday night we went downtown to see the lights on the Historic Riverside Mission Inn. Camille even liked it.

Kelly and McKenna with their cousin Jordan.

While we were waiting to get on the plane to come home, the girls decided to see if they were small enough to be carry-ons. I think they could be!

We had a great trip. It was tiring at the end being without Cory but we made it and loved being able to see both of our families in one trip. Thank you all for everything! We love you and miss you all!
